Swamiji, First and foremost I am very thankfully to you for after hearing your speech, I have started looking at our Sanatana dharmam in a totally different perspective. I now have understood that there is no point in go to temple and praying for our worldly needs but we should use temples and idols as a medium to uplift our minds. The other day I was having a discussion with my friend on the topic of rebirth in Hinduism and he asked me a question which I could not answer, hence I am posting it here. His question was, if every mind on earth is going to be reborn that is it could not attain chaitanyam with his/her deeds in their lifetime. Then the population of earth will remain constant or would reduce (if any mind could uplift and reach the supreme consciousness). How come the population of the world is growing?

When a mind leaves a body, it is believed to merge with the medium of water, as a potential father (sperm). Hence, we say the soul entered Pitrulokam. But this sperm has to wait to obtain a body (egg), to continue its journey, sometimes for years, depending on its karma. Now, if you think of the entire sperm pool of the universe…..it is millions and millions than the manifested population. That is the number of souls/minds on the waitlist. Hari Om.
