Swamiji, I have two questions : 1) Since creation itself is said to be Anaadi, (without a beginning) coupled with the fact that we(being part of creation) have not attained Moksha yet, does this mean that we have passed through a countless number of births? 2) It is generally seen that out of, say a million people, only one or two possess Mumukshutvam.(burning desire for Moksha). This is confirmed by the Lord in the Gita. Is Mumukshutvam always a result of sour grapes, or does it come as a Phala of our Poorva-Janma-Punya?

If you consider the world as a whole, your body is a speck that appears from it at birth and disappears into the whole, at death. Similarly there is an infinite universal consciousness that your mind is connected you. Your mind has a tendency to always return to its source. This is represented in symbolism of Mahavishnu where the mind (Brahma) has an Umbilical cord connection to Vishnu (the all pervading consciousness). That intense desire to be free from the entangles of the world and be liberated into pure thoughts is mumukshatwam. However, every thought or every act in transactional life is not pure, with awareness or selfless. This causes the mind to stay in a plane separate from its natural blissful source. Only with the understanding of our true nature and conscious efforts to purify our thoughts can we achieve our Universal soul, which is essentially Moksha. Hari Om.
