While most religions teach you to see goodness in everything, Hinduism teaches you to accept things the way they are. Because everytime you see goodness, you are limiting yourself to loving only that is good. But to love something that is not good or even negative and to accept it as such, needs a much higher level of growth. The world has positive and negative energies in it. Only when you are able to accept without prejudice, can you say that you have grown beyond the Gunas, to true Divinity. That is the reason temples have yakshi/gandharva/ etc. along with the main deities. When you say ‘worship’, it does not mean you go and ask them for favors. It only means you become aware of the positive and negative elements of this Universe and train yourself to accept all, as it is. Hari Om.
