Swamiji! Its said in Bhagavatha that Lord Ananda is powerful among Nakas & Lord Vasuki is powerful among Sarpas. What is the difference between Nakas and Sarpas. (Sree Madh Bhagavatha- Skanda 11- ) I don’t exactly remember the adhyaya. I think 15 or 16.

Sarpa refers to poisonous single hooded snakes, while Nagas are multi hooded non-poisonous snakes. In Mahabharata, Nagas have been attributed mystical powers and some human like qualities. They represent wisdom and eternity. Sarpas are generally considered the guardians of temples and sacred places. Hari Om.
