Swamiji, my son is 6 yrs old. His name is Ashwadh(banyan tree) I found this name a unique and meaningful one.. so I selected it. But a few relatives of mine told me that it sounds ‘Ashwadhama’ in Mahabharath and hence better to change it.swamiji, please tell me your opinion about this. if it is needed I have to take action immediately. In future I don’t want my son to blame me for his name.

Your Son’s name is Aswadh, not Aswadhama. With the difference of one syllable, there is a big difference in meaning in Sanskrit. Don’t worry about others. You have given him a meaningful and unique name. Let him stay grounded like a Banyan tree, while spreading out branches far and wide, to provide shade to many people who associate with him. Let him stand tall and strong like Aswadh. Hari Om.
