swamiji ., pranamams.. I heard you saying there are no rules in reciting /chanting bagaham. please advise if we can light lamp (vilakku) and chant devi mahatmya during menstrual period of wife????.

For ladies it is advised as rest time. That is why they were exempted from all activities.
Bhagavan does not look at your body, but devotion in mind only.
But for your happiness, do every thing without doubt.
