Swamiji, Pranams. When we perform rituals for our dead ancestors we refer to Pithu as Vasuroopasya, Pithamaha as Rudra roopasya and Prapithamaha as Aditya roopasya. Do these forms refer to Vasu as in Ashtavasus, Rudra as in Ekadasa Rudras and Aditya as in soorya? What are the attributes of these respective roopas for the departed souls? Further, for eg. my Pithamaha is my paternal uncle’s Pithu. So when I perform rituals he is referred as Rudra roopasya and when my uncle performs rituals the same ancestor is referred as Vasu roopasya. Can one soul be in two roopas at the same time?
