Swamiji thanks for all your wonderful replies. Sometimes what happens is we know that we have to be so grateful for all God’s blessings in our life which we otherwise take for granted like good health or good relationships, but then again our mind gets upset sometimes due to trivial reasons like what someone said or how they treated us.Though we know so many truths how do we bring it into practice in our daily lives ,why is it that sometimes we are able to deal with things so well and sometimes not at all..How do we always stay connected with our higher selves or with the truth beyond the lies especially when there is so much emotional pollution like at the workplace. At times we can deal calmly and nicely with people outside even when they are not good to us but at home with our family ,with the ones we love and care the most and the ones who make sacrifices for us, somehow our frustration and anger shows up and we are not able to treat them well like what they deserve. How do we deal with this.Hari om and thanks so much

There is a saying, “it is a privilege to ill treat the people who love you, because you are sure they won’t leave you”. Though it is said sarcastically, we unfortunately take out our worst behavior at family or those closest to us. To some extent, it is an expression of the freedom you feel with them, but also think, do they need to be punished for your poor character? Your life will be good only if your family members and close circle are happy. By creating hell for them, you are creating hell for yourself. Often, we say things which we never meant to say, or the opposite of what we really feel, or just to win the argument bring out the ugliest and most hurtful dialogues. We also exhibit maximum ego in close relations so there is a hesitation to say “I am sorry” or “I can’t see you being sad”. That is why scriptures say your anger to a dear one should end before the Sun sets. When two close people fight it is the more evolved and secure person who drops the issue first and says sorry. The more egoistic and flimsy one “tries to prove” his stubbornness. Have the courage to smile it off. Always boldly say sorry for your mistakes, and move on to better things. Ability to drop what hurts you and power to make someone’s life a little better should be your goal. Hari OM.
