This 16 syllable Mahamantra occurs in Kali Santharana Upanishad associated with Krishna Yajur Veda. When Narada seeks a way to transcend the difficulties of Kaliyuga, Brahma advises him that this 16 syllable, singular vocative mantra is sufficient to overcome all evils of Kaliyuga.
