Swamiji, what is the significance of “GHADHA,CONCH ,LOTUS ,CHAKKRA SUDARSHANA CHAKKRA in the arms of Bhagvan MahaVishnu
Posted by Dhanya venkiteswaran on April 9, 2016
Symbolism of Vishnu is very significant. His Sankh (PANCHAJANYAM) symbolizes the origin of existence. The sankh when blown creates the primordial sound. The name suggests the Mahat-tatwa that gives rise to the Panchabhootas.
Chakra (SUDARSANAM) stands for the ever-renewing life in the cycle of time. It also represents “balanced vision” of life. His Gadha (KAUMOUDIKI) represents adya-vidya or primal knowledge that destroys anything that opposes it. Padma represents purity and spiritual knowledge even when standing and surrounded by the mud of worldly affairs. Hari Om.
