Dear Aryan,
We don’t know about their mind, but the mind which thinks about the lost one will become weak and will be inviting problems and diseases. So engage your mind in some thing positive, never invest the mind with the feeling of what you lost.
It is said in Bhagavatham, if a person reads Bhagavatham in their home with full devotion, even if (there) somebody dies unnaturally that mind will be purified. This is said through the story of “Dundukari” in Bhagavatham.
So read Bhagavatham and help such a soul from your side.
