Swamiji, I am a person who cant live without bhakti,AM A Married Lady ,Generally when a newly married girl comes in,she is told to light the lamp,have seen in our family to,but that was not the case with me I was not given that oppurtunity to light the lamp of the house,FIne i accepted it, the Fact didnt stop me from worshiping god,but of course it took my privacy away with the god,i really cant compromise on that,so i kept some idols like krishna,Ganesha,Mukambika Devi,SAi Baba in our BED ROOM in a East direction,so that when i get up i can first look upto god & Pray,Now she says keeping the lords in the bedroom is asshudh,since its couples room & hence i can light the lamp now Though she said so ,Am not willing to do so..Why is it worng to keep the lords in the Bedroom??Is it wrong??Its all about belief,isnt it?I strongly believe that it won’t do any harm or bad to us neither to our family..Do you think My Strong Belief on this issue will safegaurd us! Dear Jishaji,
True devotion is not bound by any rituals. It is the mind’s total surrender at the Lotus Feet of the Lord.
Externally you may have to compromise with others, but your inner mind and your remembrance of the Lord can never be inflenced by others, as you have total freedom there.
When you focus on the external factors, knowingly or unknowingly your devotion turns into emotions that weaken you.
(The blind poet Surdas wrote so many melodious devotional songs on Lord Krishna. That means, the Lord is not an object for the outer eyes or any sense organs).
So, realize the true devotion through total surrender and experience God in your own Self.
