Swamiji,I tried many time to do dhyana by chanting om namah shivaya by visualizing shiva linga. But I can’t concentrate for even 5 minutes on shiva linga. Other thoughts are disturbing my mind while i am doing dhyana. My question is how to concentrate on meditation even if we have many problems in life. Please advise.

Human mind is a restless ocean and waves of thoughts are bound to happen. Meditation is the process of relating to the calmer deeper self and moving away from the turbulent superficial mind. It only happens with constant practice. Choose a quiet place to meditate, chant for a few minutes before you start meditating, then focus on your breath as you meditate. You cannot entertain thoughts when you consciously watch your breath. Slowly your mind will calm down. Hari Om.
