Swamiji,My parents do blunders without thinking about what they are going to do. They blindly believes everyone who speaks softly. Finally, falls to problems. This happened many times in their life. When I ask them “Why did you do this without thinking about consequences?” They answers me that “This is our destiny”. But I am not at all satisfied by this answer. If so, why did god gave us “budhi”. I think they are blaming god instead of their faults. What is swamiji’s valuable opinion?

I understand your frustration and the generation gap here. People of your parents generation were taught to trust others and if something goes beyond their control, take it as Bhagavan’s will or their destiny to avoid the pain. Times have changed and in today’s world unfortunately there are many crooks who want to take advantage of simple people. You should tell them to involve you or some other family member in matters relating to finances or major decisions. Slowly make them understand they don’t need to be victimized always. If people identify them as easy targets, the exploitation will continue. Being nice should not become a disability to survive in a tricky world. On the other hand, people who cheat or exploit others who are nice, should realize life has a way of treating you exactly like you treat others. What goes around, comes around. Hari Om.
