Swamiji, My question is, why is it given so much importance in the temple in karpooram aarthi. In olden days, there was only homam and later on the karpooram aarthi became popular and it is very popular in both North India and South India. What is the significance of this aarthi. Dear Geethaji,
Karpooram represents the mind (ego). When it burns, finally nothing will remain in it, not even ash.
Similarly our mind should revolve around God and finally dissolve into it without leaving any thing behind.
