Swamiji,They say sins which hurt the other person will bring bad karma , then why is having sex before marriage considered a taboo? sex with mutal consent shud never be a sin right? why they say u shud never indulge in a physical act before marriage ? how is it a sin before marriage and not considered sin after marriage

According our scriptures any act that creates guilt in you amounts to Paapam or sin. In a society where pre-marital physical relation is not accepted, this will create a strong negative impression in yourself. However, in Western cultures where it is acceptable, such superficial relations fail to produce any long standing commitments. A physical relation should happen only when there is utmost mutual trust and commitment in a relationship. If it happens otherwise, there is always a chance of abuse and threat. Moreover, there are Health consequences and the possibility of bringing an unwanted child to this world. For a person who has had multiple relations, it is hard to be fully committed to one person later on. Hence it will create problems in future married life. With all this in mind our society has cautioned us. It is better to have safe boundaries than have tremendous freedom. Hari Om.
