Dear Binduji,
Pradosham, according to astrology is the change of planetary positions.
In order to avoid any kind of bad influence on us, our forefathers developed a vritham(short penamce) by diverting mind towards Siva (the auspicious conscious energy).
So going to Siva temple and doing Japam etc. will help us to develop a positive powerful mind.
