The important thing is to sit near the lighted lamp and chant, at twilight to avoid some negative energies. This is done by utilizing the positive ethereal environment created around a lighted lamp. Nowadays most people light the lamp like a ritual but forget that you need to sit near the lighted lamp and chant to achieve the benefits. Hari Om.
