Thank you for your guidance, Swamiji! What advice do the Scriptures give regarding having / maintaining friendships? All my so-called friends just want to talk about and compare everyone’s material achievements. I don’t share my spiritual efforts with anyone and I feel less interested in talking to these friends / spending time in idle talk anymore, and everyone feels I’m responsible for the group not having fun times like before anymore. I feel that while I focus on my own growth, my intent is not to hurt anyone. At the same time, I feel degraded after spending time with this group. Do the Scriptures offer any teaching on what is my responsibility in this situation, Swamiji? Thank you, Swamiji.

To handle such a “useless talk crowd” – if you keep away from them, you will be ill treated; instead of that, laugh with them and whenever they talk useless topics, intelligently try to convert it into some positive and creative discussions.
Learn from Krishna when Arjuna started talking all useless things in the war field, Krishna heard and then he could change it into a positive conversation.
Thus Gita was born.
So, move with mass and influence them with your wits and wisdom.
