What happened for the mind when sleeping and sedation? whether the mind goes back to chaithanyam? If the mind came from the power how can the medicine can overpower the mind?
Posted by Muralidharan on December 21, 2011
Dear Muralidharanji,
When the Mind functions through brain (for a living man), we become aware of it. Medicines can sedate the brain, not the mind.
Remember, even physical death of the body can not kill the mind.
In sleep, mind undergoes “Layam” which is a function of the mind.
If you analyze deeply, we get “Sukham” only when mind experiences “Layam”.
Seeing beauty, hearing good music, smelling good fragrance, tasting delicious food etc can cause it. If the Layam is not there, that experience can not give “Sukham”. A good sleep gives rejuvenation only when the mind has “Layam”.
Like a wave in the ocean, mind rises and falls in the Chaithanyam. The ultimate merger of the mind without any more rising is called as “Self realization” by our Masters. This is called “Mano Nigraham”.
