Dear Geethaji,
Life is a combination of cosmic and conscious energy. Krishna represents conscious energy which holds the cosmic energy.
His wives represent the cosmic energy. Without Krishna, the wives have no connection.
Similarly, without a conscious experiencer, the experienced cosmic world has no relevance.
