Unfortunately most of us are utterly confused about the idea of creation. As long as you consider God as an individual your doubts and confusion have to remain.
Who is True God and what is creation are you really interested?
Then just read the slokas of Bhagavad Gita ( 2nd chapter 28 ,16 ) and 10th chapter 20th sloka.
You will get right answers for your doubts.
