Why did god create us initially while we were part of him?

God did not create us. The concept of God as a creator comes from semitic religions. This is like asking why did the ocean create the wave? The Ocean did not create the wave. The wave happened when the wind triggered a movement on the surface of the ocean. Similarly, when the life force created thoughts on an inert consciousness, creation happened. That is why symbolically Brahma is said to be the creator. His four heads denoting 4 kinds of thoughts. All creations happen in thoughts. And when thoughts disappear they merge back to “poornabodham” or inert, infinite consciousness. Hari Om.
