Why do we pray a Diety in a temple, when the God (chaithanya) is within us? Can we not pray that Chaitanya itself?

Dear Gopinathan,
The initial step in spirituality for God realization is through a FORM as mind can not realize the FORMLESS in the beginning. This is where worshipping a deity in temple helps you. But remember, you have to go beyond that and reach SAMABUDHI. This is like polevault where you hold onto a pole till you reach the maximum height and then letting go of it.
