Why in North India people tie threads over the peepal tree and do puja circling around it?
Posted by Unknown on August 3, 2017
Tying a thread is part of several customs as in marriage or 28th day of birth, to denote establishing a relation or connection. Threads from temples are tied on your body to signify establishing a connection with the Divine energy. Trees like peepal and Neem have many medicinal properties and are hence considered divine. People tie a thread on it with same the idea of establishing connection with the positive energy and circle around it, to get the benefits of the useful environment around these trees. Hari Om
