why only half pradakshina is done in a shiva temple. what is the significance

Dear Pushpa,
Shiva represents our own Chaithanyam within.
When a person transcends three states of consciousness, (that is waking, dreaming and sleeping states), is the fourth state “Thureeya state”. There is the presence of Ganga; then the mind returns to it’s source. Such a mind alone can unite and experience the inner presence of God.
