Arrogant minds often doubt the brilliance or dedication of others. Duryodhana instructs his Kaurava army to protect Bhishma from all sides. Ironically, Bhishma is the commander and supposed to protect the entire army.Duryodhana’s command reveals his inner insecurity—he knows that Bhishma is fighting out of obligation, not loyalty.
Arrogant individuals, when they sense a lack of true connection or loyalty even from those closest to them, tend to feel vulnerable. This insecurity often manifests as suspicion toward the competence and intentions of others.
