Chapter 1 : 32, 33.
Sloka 32
kiṁ no rājyena govinda kiṁ bhogair jīvitena vā
yeṣām arthe kāṅkṣitaṁ no rājyaṁ bhogāḥ sukhāni ca
Arjuna equates success with human cost
He is overwhelmed by emotional attachment. He believes ends do not justify the means. Arjuna’s compassion clouds dharma.
Sloka 33
Ye’vasthitā yuddhe prāṇāṁs tyaktvā dhanāni ca |
Ācāryāḥ pitaraḥ putrās tathaiva ca pitāmahāḥ
Compassion is noble, but clarity is essential. Decisions taken purely from emotion can paralyse action. Dharma requires balance between heart and wisdom.
