Dear Swamiji, As per Hindu tradition, once a person dies, his soul will be in Prethavastha. After 11 days nithya bali and sapinnikaranam on 12th day, the soul will be purified and will become Pithru. These rituals are not done by muslims, christians, buddists, sikks, jainas etc. Then how their soul will become pithru. i hv read your article on this on this site under press release. If these rituals are not necessary for a soul to become pithru as per your article, then why we spend thousands of rupees for these functions. If these are mere waste. Pls advs.

Sradha rituals are meant for honouring the departed souls in remembrance and carry forward their wisdom to next generations.
Spending a lot of money will not do any good to anyone.
