Yugas and the role of humans in each is beyond the limited understanding in a time sense. A mind where intelligence and Satwik features predominate is in Satya yuga. If intellectual qualities dominate and the mind is Rajasic it is in Treta Yuga. Social rules and regulations are important to such a mind. A predominantly emotional mind is in Dwapara yuga and Kali Yuga with its ego centric nature and superior/ inferior complexes cause destruction to self and others. The role of Avatars is to purify the mind and take it back to Satya yuga or intelligence.
