Hari OM, Pranam Swamiji, How in the world different religions started? Was there only one religion in the world? Why different prophets born in this world and why Mohammed want a different religion which is very worst for current times. Is there any prediction about his birth in our Bhavshya Purana? I am living in Dubai. Here there are lots of Mosques. On Fridays I heard many times they are downgrading Hinduism through high definition speakers. People attending these from different nationalities, especially from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh had a very bad impression about Hindus. Many form our country also behaving and believing Hindus as “Kafir”. Some days back before finishing Ramadan fasting Mr.Zakir Naik from Bombay visited here and given lectures. Dear Jayanarayanan,
Before the religions started, the human mind had the inquisitiveness to know the Truth behind the thoughts.
When you are standing under a tree or in a roofed house, when you se a beam of sun rays, every child will have an inquisitiveness to know where it comes from.
Similarly the great thinkers had this question “What is the source of thoughts?”
They realized that fear, sorrow and sufferings – all these, we experience through thoughts!
When thoughts are attending and attracted to the worldly events the mind will experience the ups and downs. But when the same mind is attracted towards the source, it gathers more mental energy and strength. Such a mind can easily go though the life and the same mind can finally transform that individual to complete liberation. This is called “Mukthi”.
This kind of their understanding and their practices was later known as Hinduism.
Similarly the great people like Mohammed, Jesus Christ, Budha and Gurunanak had this experience. But for transforming their minds, they took different approaches.
They did not develop a religion; but, after their death, their followers named the practices followed by their masters by various religions in their names. Thus Islam, Christianity, Budhism, Jainism were developed.
All masters teach us “God is the Self”.
But unfortunately, other religions only speak; they do not practice!
That is why religions became conservative as you mentioned.
