Dear Swamiji, When one body perishes, life force or prana travels in search of new body to complete its karmic burden. This part is clear. Swamiji said “it is recycled in the cosmic energy but not part of atma’s journey”. This part is not clear. Life force or prana or atma are one and the same which continues journey in search of new body. Pls advs.

Prana should not be mistaken for Atma. Our existence is described in 5 layers, annamayakosam or body, pranamayakosam or life force, manomayakosam or thoughts, vigjanamayakosam or intelligence and anandamayakosam or bliss. When life comes to an end, body returns to panchabhootas and prana merges with cosmic energy(as the air in you becomes part of the universal air). The other more subtle layers is part of consciousness or atma. It determines what kind of physical body to acquire to continue its journey to complete its karmic burden. Hari Om
