Mahalakshmi is depicted with 4 elephants that symbolize Dharma, Ardha, Kama and Moksha. As Gajalekshmi she provides fertility and prosperity. She is also depicted with 8 elephants that represents the “dig gajas” ( representing the eight directions of the cosmos). Hari Om.
