Pranam Swamiji, Recently i heard an interview of musician Dr Balamuralikrishna. He found out 3 rags called Mahathi, Lavangi and Sumangi. When the interviewer asked him about this, he said ” i never referred any musical books to find out this because in all books it is explained only about 72 ragas. i never went after this, but it came to me spontaneously and i immdly note down the ragas came to me also the keerthanas/lyrics. When i sang in front of the public, they applauded and accepted”. When normal musicians take max 12 ragas for a concert, Dr is well versed with 72 melakarta ragas and found out additional 3 ragas. How is this possible and why other musicians are not getting this gift? He also said ” violin is a musical instrument and it cannot play itself and when somebody plays, it brings out beautiful music. So i am an instrument and somebody is playing with me”.
