I would like to ask you,why does bhishmar put down his weapons in front of a hijada I personally feel that what he did was wrong and by putting down his weapons he has started an era where people are treating these people with injustice.did he do the right thing?if yes then what is right about it?if no,then what should we learn from that,what is the lesson or message is our epic trying to convey.please provide me a good answer

The rule of warfare says you fight only a person of equal capability. That is why you don’t fight an enemy who lost his weapon. That applies in life too. You treat a person of lesser capability with compassion. Since women are physically weaker the code of warfare does not allow a man to fight a woman. That is why Bhisma put his weapon down. It is in fact compassion of the highest order that put his own life at risk. Hari Om.
