PRANAMAM SWAMIJI I writing from uk. we are a small group of people who created hindhu association,we do monthly satsangam. one time we invited swami to our association and we listened swami’s speech. we have got a south indian temple (Balaji temple) bit far we live. Swami, please give me ur valuble advice for the following we have kids ,they are variable age from 3 yrs till 21 yrs, boys and girls. we have a plan to teach about our hindu dharmam. because most of the kids born in uk, the have very small knowledge about our dharmam.As a biggeners- for the kids what is the best way , book or subject to start with. We want our kids to be in good mind body and spirit. Please give me ur valuable advice. we r happy to talk about small class after each satsangam. swami, waitingfor ur advice

Let me congratulate you on a great initiative. Kids abroad find it difficult to explain their religion and customs in school, unless we teach them to be proud Hindus. They need to understand Hinduism is the science of the mind and the philosophy of universal consciousness. This fundamental principle can be introduced through the various puranic stories, but focus on teaching them the essence of the stories. Teach them bhajans, dhyana slokas etc.have them do plays based on Puranas, celebrate all of our festivals and have the kids talk about them. Conduct quiz competitions and debates for older kids. Encourage them to ask questions, and clear their doubts. Introduce scientific facts that were described in our scriptures so they become proud of their great ancestry. Print out the bhajans and slokas in English for them. Make it fun-filled, with a lot of their involvement in planning the lessons. Hari Om.
