I can easily understand why this sloka should create confusion. The words “go” and ” brahmana” are not understood in the right sense. Let me just give you a literal interpretation first.
“May the people be well under efficient leaders,
Who lead them in the path of justice,
May prosperity come to all animals(earth) and people with true knowledge,
May the whole world be happy.”
In this context please understand the word “go” in Sanskrit means all animals and not cow. Go also means earth, that is why Bhagavan is “GOPALAN”. And Brahmana means ” one who has Brahma Jnanam or divine knowledge”. Hari Om.
