Dear Swamiji, It is said that we take births for purification of the soul. In Gita, it is said that soul is so pure and it cannot be destroyed with weapons, air, water or heat. Hence how the impurities affect it. If it is with our karma phala, since it is beyond all these, how it affect . Pls s advs.

Paramatma, or the all pervading soul, is Pure and indestructible. But, the Jeevathma though it is manifested from the pure soul is attached to a world of likes and dislikes and measuring scales (Maya). In this process it accumulates Karma. When Gita says soul is indestructible, it is to assure Arjuna, that beyond death his relatives will still acquire new bodies and continue their journey towards Paramathma and finally dissolves into that pure existence. Once we have that understanding we will not cry over the death of a person. Hari Om.
