Pranam Swamiji, Sub-conscious mind and conscious mind are existing in human body. When the body perishes, the subconscious mind will leave the body in search of another body for fulfilling its karmic burden and the conscious mind will dissolve in universal or global mind or energy. Pls advs if my understanding is correct.

Conscious (jagrath) subconscious (swapna) stupor(sushupti) are just different levels of alertness of your mind. Beyond these three, there is Thuriya which is a state thoughtless awareness (conscious detachment). That is a higher level of evolution of the mind. When you leave the body, Prana carries the entire mind (which really has three layers- the casual body) with its karmic wealth or burden to the next body. Hari Om.
