Prana is classified into 5 vayus based on the subtle energy differences, function and direction of movement. Prana Vayu is situated in the head and concentrated around the third eye. It nourishes the brain and controls the reception of all things from outside into the body. Apana Vayu situated in the pelvic floor controls elimination and reproduction. Vyana Vayu focused in the heart and lungs helps circulation and distribution in the body. Samana Vayu helps with digestion and is situated around the navel. Udhana Vayu concentrates around the neck and controls self expression and growth. If the flow of certain Prana is not proper, it can create diseases relating to that particular function. Hari Om
