Pranam Swamiji, Kindly throw some light on my questions. 1. is it possible to pursue Vedanta Studies while maintaining a wordly life of Karma Yoga?If so from where and how I could pursue this path? 2. Is it possible to have a career like yours though I am married and have my wife and a son( I am 47 years old and no profession appeals to me and life has been a quest so far) 3.I am fascinated with esoteric studies, spirit world. healing,life after death,astrology,hypnotherapy and such related mystic aspects of life. Dear Ashok,
There is absolutely no problem in gaining knowledge, as much as possible!
However, you should realize that a balanced life is the most important thing, especially for a Gruhasthashrami!
You need to renounce mentally, not physically – that means, you have to protect and support your family while your thoughts are pointed towards the Lord.
If you leave/desert your family in search of happiness or for the sake of spiritual growth, you will realize later that your mind is revolving around them and regretting about your decision.
Which do you prefer – staying with your family and living with (always remembering) the Lord or staying in an Ashram and worrying about your deserted family?
