Namaste swamiji. I am a girl of 24 residing at Calicut. I just want to ask a question related to our culture. We do respect our elders, that’s true but, sometimes there are many things to learn from our small ones. but our elder’s use to say a common dialogue ” ninte okke ee prayam kazhinjitta njannum vannathu” . ofcourse we youngsters know about it. But the experiences in each persons life is different. whatever my mother has suffered in her life will not b the same for me. so why dont our parents or our back generation elders understand the present situations properly. how to make them understand to live in fast forward society?

Maturity is not a matter of age. We have stories in our scriptures of children who advised their parents and saved them in the most dire situations. Read the story of “Ashtaavakran”. But, to be recognized and respected our behaviour should be worthy of it, at any age. There is no “fast forward society”. Your mother very well knows today’s world is not the same as that of her younger days. But human emotions and interactions are the same at all times. Understanding needs to be developed through open communication at any time. Hari Om.
