Adi Sankara says that the self is something which transcends the body, and consequently, the mind. We also have the Vedas negating themselves, by stating — Tatra Veda aveda bhavanti( Vedas cannot reach there.) It thus appears that we humans do not possess that single, non- bodily instrument to realise god. What is that instrument?

The core of your own being is God. So to reach there, you just need to remove the sheaths. The outermost is your body, then your life force, then your mind or world of thoughts, then your intellect or world of knowledge(where Vedas belong) . When all these are removed from you, you still exist. That pure self is blissful and universal, hence called Sat- chit- Anandam or God. Hari Om.
