Swamiji in every temple there will be statue of Dwarapalakas. Most of the temple have same structure too. Why we place Dwarapalakas outside the main door and why they had given this particular structure? Hari Om!

Dwarapalakas represent two sentinels whose permission is sought before entering the ‘garbhagriham” or sanctum sanctorum of the temple. They represent a particular stage in our spiritual progression. According to Bhagavathapurana, we could attain 4 types of mukti. Salokya….Sameepya…..Saroopya and Sayoojya.
Dwarapalakas represent someone who has reached Saroopya stage. Here, your thoughts are actions are so connected with Bhagavan that you start looking and behaving like him. You make others experience HIM through you. That is why Dwarapalakas are given a look similar to the presiding Deity. Dwarapalakas are kept at the temple door step to remind us of this journey and levels of Bhakti we have to attain. Hari Om.
