dear swamiji,Is the horrible form of narasimha a manifestation of Prahlada’s mind ? If so why did he choose to see god in such a horrible form? The description of narasimha avataram was frightening especialy the part where it tears open and drinks blood and puts intestine around his neck and all. One of my daughters christian friend is asking why your gods drink blood.when she told that i felt really ashamed. Why blame her even i couldnt digest all this .

Dear Bhavani,
The Lord manifesting in the form of Guru destroyed the evil in the mind. All these stories are told to understand the principle behind them. When a devotee turns towards God, HE takes out the impurities and purifies his heart.
Ask your friend, why they take in the Flesh and Blood of Christ after their prayers in the form of Appam and Vine? Tell her not to get ashamed, but understand the philosophy.
