Pranamam Swamiji….Swamiji one confusion… According to Vedanta…Atman(Paramatma or God) which is the core(immaterial) ,is followed by different layers of Koshas( Stealths or matter)…is it? So according to this concept where is this Jeevatma(individual soul)? I am bit confused with this term Jeevatma….is Jeevatma a false identification of Paramatma with the mind? Please clarify…..With love and respect

Every being has several layers of existence. They are called the kosas. The individual soul of any life is called its Jeevatma. It is considered to be part of an all encompassing Universal consciousness called the Paramatma. The Jeevatma, because it deals with the cosmic world, is bound by Gunas and karmic sanskaras, (like the consciousness in each one of us) but the Paramatma is the supreme consciousness untouched by any attributes.
