Hariom, I would like to clear 2 doubts. 1.My 12 year daughter told she wants to do ‘Bali karma’ on her grand fathers death annivesary. But the elders not allowed her to do that they are saying that she cant do that because her parents are alive.I opposed that but I need clarification to make them belief. 2.Can I know what are the methods like food and all to take a’ Sradha noimbu’ to do Balikarma for the next day . Thank you

Please read the article on Karkidakavavu on the website. It is important to understand Tharpanam is a way of expressing our respects and homage to our ancestors who are the reason for us to be here. There is no problem with anyone doing it as long as they understand the purpose. How it is done, the rituals vary according to the region, follow what is customary in your place. If your daughter does it for a grandparent, let her do it with the parent who links them. Hari Om.
