Dear Swamiji, My humble pranams! What is the relation between ‘Remembrance’ (Smaran) and ‘Meditation”? Which one is more important in devotional practice?
Posted by Jaya on January 8, 2017
Plainly speaking remembrance is the function of your brain (memory to be specific).
And what do you like to remember most of the time? Of course, your most beloved.
When God is your most beloved Valentine, you think of Godliness always and your personality becomes divine too.
This is the importance of remembrance.
And meditation is simply dissolving in your inner silence, or becoming ONE with the Lord within.
Through remembrance you invoke the feeling and experience the Presence of the Supreme and meditate to dissolve in that Presence.
It is a ‘head to heart to nothingness’ journey. Deep meditation is total effortlessness.
