All comparisons should be to derive inspiration or to learn from someone who does things better. The problem with comparison happens when you use it to pull someone down. The intentions of parents and teachers are to motivate you to do better. Take it in a positive light. When you have reached a level where you can see your uniqueness and faults with equanimity and improve on your own, then you are beyond comparisons. Hari Om.
