Pranam swamiji…you have told many times that people follow any one of these ie thamo gunam rajo gunam and sathwa gunam ..and that people who follow sathwa gunam will have a v good and happy life in their next birth. I have a question swamiji…is previous birth ..next birth all true…? If we have done any sins knowingly or unknowingly in this birth…will we have to pay for the sins in this birth itself or will it be carried to next birth? Supposing if we want to reduce the punishments of the sins we have done knowingly or unknowingly in this birth..is it possible to reduce or remove those punishments by getting connected to Lord Almighty by doing pujas, homams etc. or by going to Rameshwaram which is very famous for making us to clean away all our sins there? We are facing lot of problems with our son who is in 12th std….we came to know through an astrologer that he is experiencing his poorva janma paapa doshams . We are worried about his studies swamiji….Pls advise swamiji…Hari om

Every action and thought creates an impression in us, which then becomes our Karma. We all have to live off the Karmic burden, whether it is good or bad. Good actions and thoughts bring good results whether in this life or next life. To reduce the effects of any negativism that you carry, you have to purify your mind with regular namajapam and connect to Bhagavan with a pure heart. You don’t need any special pujas or a Rameswaram trip for that. Every change happens in your mind and it can be done at home itself if you have sincere Bhakti. Your son is like any other 12th grader, the astrologer has just put some fear in your mind. Tell him to chant Sarasawthi Stotram for 41 days in the evening before studying. Instead of worrying about him, support his studies and be with him. See what you can do to encourage him. Appreciate even the small good things he does, so he feels proud of achievements. Consciously do good in words and thoughts and be of service to others, all the bad karma will be automatically wiped off. Hari Om.
